Courtesy the Governor of Edo State, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, the acting Vice Chancellor of the Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Prof Sunday Olowo Samuel will be attending the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference in China, after invitation was extended to him.
The acting Vice Chancellor made the disclosure during an interface with journalists at the inauguration ceremony of the Governor, and his deputy, Hon Dennis Idahosa in Benin-City.
Prof. Samuel stated that the trip is a testament to the Governor’s commitment to supporting the University, while appreciating him for the gesture.
“I will be leaving for China on November 17, 2024, to attend the conference. I am also scheduled to visit Jinlin University of Chemical Technology and the petrochemical industry, where I will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in partnership with AAU.
“The MoU aims to promote education and technology transfer for the petrochemical industry, enhancing technology transfer, scholarship exchange programs, and financial benefits for AAU Ekpoma.
“Governor Okpebholo has demonstrated his commitment to revitalizing the University, acknowledging the poor funding status of AAU Ekpoma and promising to improve funding from this month.”
According to the acting Vice Chancellor, the Governor’s efforts to strengthen tertiary education in Edo State are evident in his support for the University’s participation in the international conference and partnership.
