Seven petitions were listed for determination by the court at its formal inauguration and commencement of sitting.
The days proceedings commenced with suit two on the case list whose petitioners are Asue Ighodalo and Edo PDP, represented by Mr Ken Mozia while the first respondent INEC is represented by Hassan Umar SAN, second respondent Gov. Okpebholo represented by Onyeachi Ikpeazu SAN, and the third respondent the APC is represented by Donald Denwigwe SAN.
Pre-hearing information sheets earlier filled were individually adopted by respective counsels in the suit and 18th Dec. 2024 was agreed as return date to adopt all written applications filed and replied to.
The seven petitioners are Accord Party, PDP, Action Alliance, Social Democratic Party, Allied People’s Movement, Action Democratic Party and the Zenith Labour Party.
On conclusion of the days proceedings in suit two, the tribunal adjourned to December 18th 2024 for continuation of pre-hearing in all seven petitions before it.
Meanwhile, while the court session proceeded inside, clashes broke out outside the premises as suspected supporters of the various parties clashed.
Some supporters, wearing white fez caps and T-shirts with inscriptions, clashed with others who opposed the symbols.
